All of the products offered by iTz are designed to work together as a suite.

The Aperture Suite represents client programs, management utilities, and
sophisticated data parsers to convert and format student data into readable,
usable text for educational decision making.

The major components of the suite are presented below, while the entire
body of products is described in detail, with screen shots, in the document,
Aperture Suite Elements.

Purpose...

To collect, manage, display, disaggregate, analyze, chart, and report multiyear student demographic and achievement data.

Aperture represents a balance between user-created
queries and Instant Reports, and includes sophisticated
data analysis tools capable of reporting achievement as Acrobat, web, and Excel documents.

With Aperture, the information collected for decision
making is hosted and managed on a central server,
using MySQL—a stable, open source database server.

This model provides extremely fast, secure queries of
large data sets, and reports both multiyear, matched
scores and multiple assessment measures to validate
student learning over time.

Aperture is also designed to join, import, and update
data from any student information system, classroom spreadsheet, state or national achievement test, and
most other data files.

With Aperture's database administrator tools, student information can be easily managed on a district server,
can be kept current, can be accessed from anywhere
on the network—even from a home computer—and all
this is possible without a degree in Information Science!

Purpose...

To extract, parse, and transfer data from
a school/district/regional SIS system to
a spreadsheet or data analysis application.

The SIS Bridge currently consists in two flavors—a version
for the SASI student information system and one for Aeries. However, the core code can be rewritten for just about any district information system.

The SASI Bridge automatically joins the school-based files
into a single, district database so that you can review data
for accuracy and perform achievement analysis.

Additionally, the SIS Bridge migrates data from SASI and
other school data systems to any standard database application by automatically exchanging field names for
user set alternatives and mapping internal field values
to user defined values.

The program can also extract fields from complex relational
database systems to help with the process of creating
national test pre-ID submission files.

The Aeries Parser, performs similar duties for the Eagle SIS.

Purpose...

The conversion of all state/national test
results files to useable spreadsheet format.

The FileMiner extracts user selected demographic and achievement data from national test files, converts the database code numbers to readable text, inserts user determined column headings, and reformats the file to
display in any standard spreadsheet application—such
as Excel. It is then easy to review the data or import it
into an analysis database for reporting.

For the California STAR test, the program also creates a
school-by-school, student-by-student report—organized
by test strand—and displays the results in performance
bands alongside demographic indicators such as English language fluency, ethnicity, and economic factors.

Purpose...

To serve as a computer version of the student
report card—especially for standards-based
achievement reporting.

The Report Card on Computer facilitates the transfer of data
to a searchable, multiuser database; provides for printing to
Acrobat report cards forms; can be made available for teacher
and parent access through the Internet; and is optimized for
use with Aperture for analyzing multiple measures of student
achievement.

In addition, the application includes Instant Reports, which
provide analysis of how each student performed in each of
the reading, writing, and math standards.
